Gordon, Michel

Gordon, Michel
(1823-90)
   Lithuanian Hebrew and Yiddish poet. He was born in Vilna. He was influenced by the Haskalah circle of Abraham Dov Lebensohn. He wrote Hebrew books and articles as well as Yiddish songs. His later poetry is pessimistic in character.
